On the list of fun projects for 2012, we got a custom design job for a VU meter. This one was commissioned by the Hayes School of Music at Appalachian State University for a visually-impaired student studying in the audio technology program.
Check out the box– those grey pieces transmit a vibration when the VU meters peak.
The padding in the box helps isolate the vibration, so there’s no ambiguity about what’s peaking, and make it comfy so your hand isn’t tired before your ears.
More custom projects will be coming in the future– what would you be interested in seeing?
